The story behind the 24 Ours
The 24 Ours is a sleek endurance racer that rolled out as part of the HW Glow Wheels series in 2017. Designed by Rob Matthes for the core Mainline lineup, this model stands out because it carries the coveted Treasure Hunt status. You can spot it quickly thanks to its glowing yellow wheels and unique flame logo on the side panel. The body is painted a vibrant red with detailed orange striping that matches the base plate perfectly. This car captures the high-speed excitement of night racing events where light shows are key features for drivers.
Materials, colors and value
Built on a sturdy metal chassis, this 1/64 scale diecast model offers serious weight and durability. The finish features a glossy red body with contrasting orange bases and striking chrome interiors visible through yellow windows. Some variants include tinted window treatments while others keep them clear. Because it is an official Treasure Hunt release from 2017, collectors value this car highly above standard issues. Its rarity makes finding one in perfect condition quite difficult for modern enthusiasts.
Questions about the 24 Ours
How do I know if my Hot Wheels 24 Ours is a real Treasure Hunt?+
Look closely at the side of the car or near the rear wheel. You will see a small golden flame logo printed right on the paintwork. Standard versions never have this mark, so seeing that specific icon confirms it is indeed a rare Treasure Hunt model.
Is the 2017 HW Glow Wheels 24 Ours worth much money today?+
Yes, these models generally hold higher value compared to regular Mainline cars. Since they are harder to find in modern blind packs and carry special collector status, prices tend to be significantly elevated when sold by verified sellers.
What materials were used for the body of this specific car?+
The main exterior shell is made entirely from solid metal, giving it a premium feel. The base underneath matches that durability with an orange finish. Wheels are typically plastic but designed to glow brightly under special lights.
