The story behind the Dragon Blaster
The Dragon Blaster arrived in 2017 as a standout member of the Street Beasts series. Designed by Julian Payne, this model transforms fantasy into fun with its detailed dragon head and translucent orange wings. What sets it apart is that it is a Treasure Hunt release within the standard Mainline assortment. These special models are much harder to find than regular cars because they appear in very low ratios at stores. Collectors eagerly hunt for them due to their unique packaging and distinct flame logo on the backing card. The vivid purple paint combined with bright green tires makes this car pop on any shelf.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model features a solid metal base that gives it satisfying weight and durability typical of Hot Wheels collectibles. It is finished in a deep, glossy purple color over most of its body parts including the sculpted head and tail fin. The chassis remains unpainted to highlight the metallic construction underneath. While some variations exist with different bases, this specific SKU DVD11 includes green rubber tires with purple center details that complement the main theme perfectly.
Questions about the Dragon Blaster
Is the Dragon Blaster a Treasure Hunt?+
Yes, it is definitely classified as a Treasure Hunt model. You can confirm this by looking for the small flame logo printed on the packaging card when buying new. This designation indicates that fewer units were produced compared to standard Mainline releases, making them more exclusive and valuable.
How rare is Dragon Blaster 2017?+
As a Treasure Hunt from 2017, it holds moderate rarity status among collectors. It does not have the extreme scarcity of Super Treasure Hunts or Chases but remains significantly harder to locate in blind packs than regular Street Beasts models due to lower production numbers.
What is Dragon Blaster worth?+
Value varies depending on condition and whether you still have the original card attached. Unpacked examples generally sell for reasonable prices since they were released in decent quantities initially. Mint-in-package versions command higher premiums due to their status as sought after hidden gems from the 2017 lineup.
