The story behind the Hot Wheels Ford Transit Connect
This Hot Wheels Ford Transit Connect stands out as a special Treasure Hunt release from the HW City Works series in 2017. Designed by Fraser Campbell, this van is far more than just a standard delivery vehicle. It features a custom pizza shop livery with bold graphics that scream street racing culture rather than commercial logistics. The body sports various shades of dark blue and metallic paint effects to give it depth under the light. Collectors often look for this specific SKU because Treasure Hunt models are harder to find in blind bags compared to standard issues. It brings a unique flavor to any Mainline collection by mixing everyday utility vehicle vibes with Hot Wheels street performance aesthetics.
Materials, colors and value
This model comes at a classic 1/64 scale and features a plastic body construction typical for its series. The color options are quite varied, appearing in metallic dark blue or standard gloss finishes depending on the specific run. The interior is detailed in brick red tones that contrast nicely with the darker exterior paint jobs. You will notice distinct yellow tinted windows throughout all versions of this release. Being a Treasure Hunt item makes it more valuable to dedicated collectors than regular Mainline cars found at checkout counters. It represents a solid addition for fans who enjoy unique graphic treatments on practical vehicle shapes.
Questions about the Hot Wheels Ford Transit Connect
How can I tell if my Ford Transit Connect is a Treasure Hunt?+
You should check the base of the car or look closely at the window graphics. Genuine Treasure Hunts usually feature a small flame logo somewhere on the packaging or printed directly onto the vehicle windows and bases. Since this model was released as part of that specific category, it carries higher rarity status than standard issues.
Is the 2017 Ford Transit Connect valuable for collectors?+
Yes, this car generally holds more value because it is classified as a Treasure Hunt release. These items are produced in smaller quantities within blind bags compared to regular Mainline models. The unique pizza-themed graphics and limited availability make it a sought-after piece for people building comprehensive collections of HW City Works vehicles.
What materials was this Hot Wheels van made from?+
The Ford Transit Connect is primarily constructed with a plastic body to allow for complex shaping and detailed graphic applications like the pizza delivery decals. While many premium models use metal bodies, this particular Mainline release relies on high-quality molded plastic that fits perfectly into standard track systems while maintaining its distinctive 1/64 scale proportions.
