The story behind the QUICK BITE
The Quick Bite stands out as a unique entry in the Hot Wheels lineup because it mixes everyday themes with collector excitement. Released in 2018 as part of the Fast Foodie series, this vehicle captures the fun vibe of street food culture through its sushi truck design. What makes it truly special is its status as a Treasure Hunt model within the core Mainline assortment. These limited-edition releases are much harder to find than standard cars and are marked by a small flame logo on the base. Designed by Larry Wood, this car brings a spark of rarity to routine shopping trips, making every pack open an adventure for fans looking to add that elusive green sushi truck to their shelves.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model comes in a compact 1/64 scale and features a detailed exterior with vibrant graphics. The body is primarily finished in Metalflake Dark Green or solid Chrome options, complemented by colorful decals inspired by Japanese cuisine. Yellow tinted windows add contrast to the dark interior details. Like many Mainline cars from this era, it utilizes a plastic base that can appear as ZAMAC, Chrome, unpainted metal, or even Spectraflame depending on the specific version found. While individual values change based on condition and packaging, Treasure Hunt variants generally hold higher interest among serious collectors compared to regular releases.
Questions about the QUICK BITE
How do I know if my Quick Bite is a rare Treasure Hunt?+
You can identify this car as a limited edition Treasure Hunt by looking for the small flame logo printed directly on the metal base. This symbol appears near the front of the chassis and distinguishes it from standard mass-produced versions found in regular 2018 packs.
What is the value of a 2018 Quick Bite diecast car?+
Because this model was released as part of the limited Treasure Hunt program, it tends to hold more interest than average Mainline cars. Prices vary significantly based on whether you have loose examples or sealed blister packs. Unopened versions usually command higher prices from dedicated adult collectors.
Is this car made entirely out of metal?+
No, the Quick Bite is not a fully metal model. While it has diecast components for durability and weight distribution, the chassis or base material listed for this release includes plastic variants alongside unpainted metal options. The body styling incorporates detailed stickers over its painted shell.
