The story behind the Datsun 620
The Datsun 620 from 2018 stands out as a unique entry in Hot Wheels history because of its special paint finish. As part of the HW Hot Trucks series, this model brings a classic Japanese truck design into modern play with an aggressive off-road look. The most notable feature is the Spectraflame Green finish that covers the body and bed. This specific release carries Super Treasure Hunt status, which makes it one of the rarest variants you will find in any case pack. Designed by Jun Imai under SKU FKB40, this 1/64 scale truck captures the spirit of rally racing with detailed camouflage graphics on the hood.
Materials, colors and value
This model relies on durable plastic for its base construction while featuring a stunning Spectraflame Green body finish that shines under light. The clear windows allow you to see into the black interior where simple seats are molded in place. It sits securely on a black base and comes equipped with black wheels to match the dark accents along the side panels. Because it is marked as a Super Treasure Hunt, this car tends to hold higher value among serious collectors compared to standard mainline releases.
Questions about the Datsun 620
How do I know if my Datsun 620 is a super treasure hunt?+
You can identify this special edition by looking closely at the paint finish on the body. It should feature Spectraflame Green paint, which has a distinct pearlescent glow different from regular plastic colors. Additionally, check for any Treasure Hunt flame logos printed directly on the die-cast base or near the wheels.
What makes this 2018 HW Hot Trucks release special?+
The Datsun 620 stands out because it was released as a Super Treasure Hunt within the mainline series. These rare finds are usually hidden randomly in regular case packs rather than sold separately, making them much harder to locate and significantly more desirable for people who complete full sets.
Is this car common or hard to find today?+
This vehicle is very difficult to find because of its limited production run. Super Treasure Hunt models have extremely low odds of appearing in a single case, meaning many stores will never even receive one during their shipments.
