The story behind the 2017 Camaro ZL1
The 2017 Camaro ZL1 from the Muscle Mania series captures American speed with a unique finish that stands out in any collection. Released in 2018 as part of the core Mainline assortment, this specific casting holds special status because it is a Super Treasure Hunt model. Designed by Brendon Vetuskey under SKU FKB48, this diecast version features the highly prized Spectraflame paint treatment. This means the car has an exceptionally smooth and shiny surface that looks distinct from standard retail releases. Collectors look for these hidden gems in blind packs because they offer a premium aesthetic on a plastic base.
Materials, colors and value
This model arrives at the popular 1/64 scale, making it easy to display alongside other standard track cars despite its rare status. The body is finished in Spectraflame Green with bold black racing stripes running down the center and sides. It features tinted windows that match the sleek look of the real vehicle. While the chassis material is plastic rather than metal, this specific casting is highly sought after due to the premium paint job associated with Super Treasure Hunts.
Questions about the 2017 Camaro ZL1
How do I know if my Camaro ZL1 is a Super Treasure Hunt?+
You can identify it by checking for the TH logo printed on the front fender. The most obvious sign, however, is the Spectraflame Green paint job. This special finish has an ultra-smooth texture that shines differently than normal metallic or glossy paints found in standard Mainline packs.
Is this car considered rare for collectors?+
Yes, Super Treasure Hunt models are extremely limited and hard to find. They were produced in very small numbers compared to regular releases. Because of the special Spectraflame paint and the TH designation, these cars are often kept as display pieces rather than used on tracks.
What makes this 2018 Camaro ZL1 unique?+
It combines a plastic base with high-end aesthetics that usually appear only in expensive collector series. The bright green color combined with the black stripes gives it an aggressive look. Finding one still sealed in its original packaging adds even more value to this specific SKU.
