The story behind the Fast-Bed Hauler
The Fast-Bed Hauler stands out as a standout release from the 2019 HW Metro series designed by Abe Lugo. This classic long-nose truck captures the spirit of vintage transport with its bold yellow paint and extensive chrome details on the grille, exhaust pipes, and wheel rims. As part of the mainline assortment, it was distributed through standard retail channels but carries a special designation that sets it apart from regular releases. It is classified as a Treasure Hunt model, which means it features unique design elements not found on common variants. Collectors appreciate how this vehicle combines nostalgic styling with the excitement of finding a rare edition in their packs.
Materials, colors and value
This 1/64 scale diecast model features a plastic body and base that are painted black to contrast sharply with the bright yellow cab. The detailing includes chrome window treatments and unpainted accents depending on the specific production run, alongside ZAMAC components for added visual interest. Because it is identified as a Treasure Hunt by its flame logo decal placed near the front or side, it holds higher value than standard mainline trucks. While base plastic models can be common in general collections, this limited variation commands attention and often sells at a premium among serious diecast enthusiasts looking to complete their HW Metro sets.
