The story behind the Dodge Viper RT/10
The 2020 Dodge Viper RT/10 Treasure Hunt stands out as a special find for any Hot Wheels fan. Released within the HW Race Team series, this diecast model captures the aggressive look of the iconic American sports car. Designed by Larry Wood and Michael Kollins, it features a striking Race Team Blue body that shines with Spectraflame paint. The vibrant finish is complemented by bright yellow wheel rims and detailed racing decals bearing the number 10. As part of the Treasure Hunt assortment, this release was intentionally made harder to spot on retail shelves than standard Mainline cars. Collectors often hunt for these hidden gems because they offer a premium look at no extra cost in stores.
Materials, colors and value
This model comes in 1/64 scale and is built with a plastic base that supports the sleek body lines of the Viper RT/10. The interior features gray seats visible through the blue tinted windows, adding to the realistic cabin feel. The exterior highlights include white accents on the lower trim and bold graphics along the sides and hood. Because it belongs to the Treasure Hunt category, this car generally holds more value among collectors than common releases from 2020. Its unique color combination of Race Team Blue with yellow wheels makes it instantly recognizable once you know what to look for in a pack.
Questions about the Dodge Viper RT/10
Is the 2020 Dodge Viper RT/10 considered rare?+
Yes, this specific model is classified as a Treasure Hunt. These cars are produced in smaller quantities than regular Mainline releases and do not appear on store shelves very often. Finding one usually requires checking multiple packs or visiting large retail outlets that stock high volumes of Hot Wheels vehicles.
How can I tell if this Viper is a Treasure Hunt?+
You should look closely at the base of the car near the rear wheels. A true Treasure Hunt will have a small flame logo printed directly on the plastic floorplate. Additionally, the body paint often has a shimmering quality known as Spectraflame, which catches light differently than standard matte or glossy finishes.
What is special about this particular Viper RT/10 release?+
This version represents the HW Race Team series theme from 2020. It features a unique blue paint scheme with matching yellow wheels that distinguish it from other color variants of the same casting. The inclusion of racing numbers and team logos gives it an authentic motorsport appearance while maintaining collectible status.
