The story behind the Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR32)
The Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR32) holds a legendary spot in motorsports history as one of the most iconic Japanese performance sedans ever built. When Hot Wheels brought this classic to life in their HW Turbo series, they did not just release it as a standard model. This specific 1/64 scale casting arrived as part of the highly coveted Super Treasure Hunt lineup. Designed by Jun Imai under SKU GHG23, this version stands out because it features special Spectraflame Gunmetal Gray paint rather than traditional flat colors. The sleek body is adorned with detailed gold decals that highlight its racing heritage. Because it belongs to a limited production run marked for serious enthusiasts, finding one on store shelves was incredibly difficult back in 2026.
Materials, colors and value
This model captures the sharp lines of the original R32 chassis using durable plastic materials typical of the brand's mainline releases. The visual appeal comes from its Spectraflame Gunmetal Gray finish which gives off a unique metallic shine compared to standard paints found on regular cars. You will notice distinct gold lettering along the sides and matching gold wheels that complement the dark base perfectly. Inside, black details keep things clean while smoke-tinted windows add depth without obscuring views of the interior components completely. Collectors value these pieces highly due mainly to their rarity within assortments like HW Turbo where only a small percentage are made available annually.
Questions about the Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR32)
How do I know if my Hot Wheels Skyline GT-R is a Super Treasure Hunt?+

Is this Nissan Skyline GT-R casting considered rare today?+

What are the color options for this specific GT-R release?+
This particular car features a Spectraflame Gunmetal Gray body with black bases and interiors. The wheels match nicely by being gold colored while decals use bright orange tones against dark backgrounds to create strong contrast suitable for display cases.
