The story behind the Tred Shredder
The Tred Shredder stands out as a memorable entry in the 2021 HW Daredevils series. Designed by Fraser Campbell, this model captures the spirit of off-road adventure with its rugged stance and unique styling. As a Treasure Hunt release, it holds special appeal for collectors who enjoy the thrill of hunting for rare finds on store shelves. These models are marked with a small flame logo to distinguish them from standard releases. The car features a striking blue body that contrasts nicely with its unpainted metal base. Its 1/64 scale ensures it fits perfectly alongside other Mainline vehicles in any collection. This particular variant adds excitement to the lineup because of its limited availability and distinct color scheme.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model is built on a durable metal base, giving it that satisfying weight collectors love. The design includes an unpainted ZAMAC chassis which highlights the raw industrial look often found in Treasure Hunt editions. The body comes in a vibrant blue finish that catches the light beautifully. At 1/64 scale, it matches the standard size of most Hot Wheels releases for easy display. While specific market prices vary based on condition and demand, this car is generally valued higher than common Mainline models due to its Treasure Hunt status. Fans appreciate the attention to detail in the wheel designs and overall casting quality.
Questions about the Tred Shredder
How do I know if my Tred Shredder is a real Treasure Hunt?+
Look for the small gold flame logo on the base of the car. This symbol indicates it was part of the limited Treasure Hunt series released in 2021. The specific SKU GTC92 helps verify its authenticity when cross-referencing with official Hot Wheels databases or collector guides online.
Is the blue Tred Shredder from 2021 considered rare?+
Yes, it is harder to find than standard Mainline cars. Treasure Hunt models are produced in smaller quantities compared to regular releases. The blue color variant with an unpainted base was only available for a short time during the 2021 release window, making complete examples more sought after by serious collectors today.
What is the typical value of this Hot Wheels car?+
Values depend heavily on condition and whether it remains in its original packaging. Mint carded copies often command higher prices at auctions or resale markets due to their scarcity. Loose cars are still valuable but generally sell for less. Check recent sales data from reputable collector forums to get an accurate idea of current market trends.
