The story behind the 1978 Dodge Li'l Red Express Truck
The 1978 Dodge Li'l Red Express Truck from 2021 brings a serious amount of nostalgia to the Hot Wheels track as part of the HW Hot Trucks series. Designed by Paul DeLorean, this model is a special Treasure Hunt edition that stands out with its unique metalflake green paint job and gold racing stripes. Unlike standard releases found in everyday packs at stores, this car belongs to the exclusive Treasure Hunt lineup which makes it much harder to find for most fans. The design pays homage to classic American pickup trucks while adding the signature details collectors love about these limited runs. Finding one of these hidden gems inside a blind pack is always an exciting moment because they appear less frequently than regular models.
Materials, colors and value
This specific casting features a plastic body with clear windows and black interior pieces that match the era accurately. The truck rides on gold wheels which complement the green exterior perfectly. Since it is a Treasure Hunt release, expect to see the small flame logo stamped near the rear bumper as proof of its special status. Collectors highly value these models because they are produced in smaller quantities compared to standard mainline cars. While regular prices vary based on condition and availability, this particular version often commands higher interest due to its rarity within the 2021 lineup.
