The story behind the 1989 PORSCHE 944 TURBO
The 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo is a sleek sports coupe that brings serious speed to your shelf in its Hot Wheels form. Released in 2024 as part of the Celebrations assortment, this model pays tribute to one of Porsche's most iconic performance cars from the late 80s. Designed by Ryu Asada and produced at the classic 1/64 scale, it captures the sharp lines and aggressive stance that made the real car a favorite among enthusiasts. The black body with silver side decals mirrors the original Turbo styling, while smoke-tinted windows add an extra layer of realism. This release appeals to collectors who appreciate both design accuracy and nostalgic automotive history.
Materials, colors and value
This model features a plastic body painted in glossy black with matching interior details and smoke-tinted windows for added depth. The base is also black, keeping the look clean and consistent across all components. Silver accents on the wheels complement the side stripes that read 'PORSCHE' along each door. At 1/64 scale, it fits easily into standard displays or collections without taking up too much space. While not a limited edition like Treasure Hunts, this car is part of a special Porsche-themed series released in 2024 and may hold value for fans of the brand looking to complete their lineup.
