The story behind the Ford Mustang Dark Horse
The Ford Mustang Dark Horse represents a high-performance milestone in pony car history, bringing aggressive style to the track-focused lineup. Hot Wheels captured this spirit with a special release for collectors in 2024 as part of the Then and Now series within the Mainline assortment. Designed by Shawn Moghadam under SKU HRY93, this model showcases a bold metallic blue finish that glimmers on display shelves. The design features distinct aerodynamic elements like a functional rear wing and detailed front splitter to emphasize its racing pedigree. As a standard Mainline casting, it is widely available for building out Mustang collections or finding in random packs.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model measures at the classic Hot Wheels scale of 1/64 and utilizes a durable plastic body construction. The exterior shines with a striking Matte Atlas Blue paint job that reflects light beautifully against black accents on the base, wheels, and hood vents. Inside, you will find matching black interior details visible through smoke tinted windows. Since it is not classified as a Treasure Hunt or Chase variant, its value remains accessible for general hobbyists who enjoy trading common releases without high premium costs.
Questions about the Ford Mustang Dark Horse
Is the Hot Wheels Ford Mustang Dark Horse hard to find?+
No, this specific casting is part of the standard Mainline assortment released in 2024. It does not carry rare labels like Treasure Hunt or Chase status, which means you should encounter it fairly often when buying blind packs from local retailers.
What materials are used to build this model?+
The body of the car is manufactured primarily out of molded plastic rather than metal. It sits on a black base with rubber tires designed for durability during play or storage, keeping weight down while maintaining that authentic sleek look.
How much is this specific blue version worth?+
Because it belongs to the common Mainline series and lacks special rarity indicators like Spectraflame paint, its market value stays low. Most collectors find these models for standard retail pricing or slightly above if purchased directly from other enthusiasts.
