The story behind the Porsche 928S Safari
The Porsche 928S Safari from the HW Dirt series brings a wild twist to classic sports car design in 2024. This unique diecast model transforms a sleek coupe into an off-road adventure machine with massive brown tires and a rugged roof rack. Designed by Dmitriy Shakhmatov, this release is classified as a Treasure Hunt within the Mainline assortment. That specific designation means it was produced in limited numbers compared to standard cars found on store shelves. Collectors hunt for these models because they feature special paint treatments that make them stand out from regular releases.
Materials, colors and value
This model features a vibrant red body with detailed yellow and black racing stripes along the sides. The design includes specific sponsor decals like Sparco and Michelin, plus a prominent number 8 on the door panel. Underneath, it sits on a black plastic base equipped with oversized brown tires that give it true rally car appeal. The interior is painted in solid black to match the dark gray or smoke tinted windows. As an official Treasure Hunt release marked by SKU HTF29, this diecast replica holds higher value for serious enthusiasts seeking rare variants.
