The story behind the BACK TO THE FUTURE TIME MACHINE 50'S VERSION
This unique casting captures the iconic DeLorean as it appeared during its time in Hill Valley, circa 1955. Released in 2024 within the Pop Culture Mix 1 series, this model represents a specific moment from the Back to the Future timeline where the car was not yet fully modified for time travel. The unpainted metal body gives it that classic silver stainless steel look without chrome plating, while brown wheels and black trim complete its early aesthetic. Designer Manson Cheung brought this alternate version to life with SKU HXD99.
Materials, colors and value
Collectors will appreciate the die-cast metal construction of the main chassis on a standard 1/64 scale base. The unpainted body allows for detailed panel lines and authentic texture matching the movie prop before its transformation. It features clear windows, gray interior details, black bases, and brown tires that help distinguish it from other versions in the collection. As part of the Pop Culture line, these models hold steady value due to their strong connection with film history.
Questions about the BACK TO THE FUTURE TIME MACHINE 50'S VERSION
Is this Back To The Future Time Machine a Treasure Hunt?+
No, it is not a Treasure Hunt. It belongs to the standard Pop Culture mix released in 2024. You can tell because there is no flame logo on the base card or packaging marking it as an exclusive hunt model.
Why does this DeLorean have brown wheels?+
The brown wheels represent how the vehicle looked in 1955 before Marty McFly arrived. In that era of the film, the car was just a normal vehicle sitting in Doc Brown's garage without its futuristic modifications.
How rare is the HXD99 Back To The Future model?+
Since it comes from a standard Pop Culture assortment rather than an exclusive set, finding one should be relatively easy. These models are widely produced for retail stores and online shops to meet general demand.
