The story behind the Custom Volkswagen Beetle
This Custom Volkswagen Beetle from the 2024 Ultra Hots Mix 2 series brings high-octane style to a classic shape. Designed by Larry Wood for the Target Retro assortment, it captures that iconic hot rod look with lowered stance and big rear tires. The model is known for appearing in multiple paint variations, including standard pink finishes as well as rare Spectraflame versions. While most collectors see the common plastic body examples at local stores, hunting down a true Spectraflame variant turns this into a serious chase piece. It represents the perfect mix of retro charm and modern toy performance that makes Ultra Hots so popular among enthusiasts.
Materials, colors and value
The car features a lightweight plastic construction typical for this specific series line. You will mostly encounter it with a bright pink body paired with white lightning graphics, though rare versions show off special Spectraflame finishes over ZAMAC bases. The interior usually comes in black to keep focus on the exterior paint job. Window treatments vary between clear smoke tints and darker shades depending on the exact manufacturing run. Because Target exclusions can be limited, finding specific color combinations adds value for dedicated fans who want complete sets.
