The story behind the Power Wheels Dune Racer
The Power Wheels Dune Racer brings a blast from the past into the Hot Wheels world in 2025 as part of the HW Ride-Ons series. This Mainline release captures the spirit of those big electric toys that kids love to drive around driveways and parks. Instead of a sleek street racer or muscle car, this model celebrates off-road fun with its rugged design. The casting features large chunky tires ready for any terrain and an open cockpit layout perfect for imaginative play scenarios. Collectors who grew up riding these larger versions will appreciate seeing their childhood favorites shrink down to fit on the shelf alongside modern Hot Wheels releases.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model is built primarily from plastic rather than metal, which helps keep it lightweight while mimicking the look of ride-on toys. The body sports a vibrant orange finish accented with black and white checkered stripes along the side panels for extra detail. A solid black base supports the structure beneath the bright exterior. Inside you will find matching black seating elements that complete the rugged aesthetic. At a 1/64 scale, this piece fits easily into standard storage cases or tracks while maintaining plenty of visible character.
