The story behind the PORSCHE 917 LH
The Porsche 917 LH represents a legendary chapter in motorsport history, bringing its famous long-tail aerodynamics into the 2025 Hot Wheels lineup as part of The Hot Ones Mix 1 series at Target. This specific model is produced as a Chase variant within the Target Retro assortment. A Chase car stands out because it is an exclusive version made to surprise collectors during pack hunts or special releases, rather than appearing in standard store shelves everywhere. It captures the aggressive racing look with Spectraflame Gold paint that shines under any light and pairs beautifully with red base accents.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model features a solid metal body construction typical for high-performance Hot Wheels replicas. The exterior shows off vibrant Spectraflame Gold finishes alongside bold red bases on the bumpers and spoiler elements. Blue tinted windows contrast nicely against the black interior details visible through the canopy design. Since this piece holds Chase rarity status among Target Retro releases, it carries significant value to serious fans who track down these exclusive finds rather than common retail versions.
Questions about the PORSCHE 917 LH
How rare is the Porsche 917 LH from The Hot Ones Mix?+
This specific car holds Chase rarity status within its Target Retro assortment. Chase models are produced in much smaller quantities compared to standard Mainline releases and often appear randomly or as special hunt targets, making them significantly harder to locate for collectors looking to complete their series.
What does Spectraflame mean on a Hot Wheels car?+
Spectraflame refers to a multi-layered metallic painting process applied by hand or specialized machines during production. It creates deep reflective colors that change slightly depending on lighting angles while giving each model an incredibly glossy showroom finish rarely seen on standard plastic-coated bodies.
Is the Porsche 917 LH available in regular stores?+
While base versions may sometimes appear locally, this particular gold and red chase variant belongs to a specific limited mix at Target locations. Finding exact color combinations requires searching through multiple boxes since manufacturers deliberately keep hunt models scarce among broader assortments.
