The story behind the Hollowback
The Hollowback brings the high-octane racing spirit back in 2025 as part of the AcceleRacers series. This franchise is famous for its futuristic designs and team-based rivalries from years past. By returning to this theme, Hot Wheels taps into strong nostalgia for fans who grew up with these animated racers. The car itself features a sleek, aggressive shape that fits perfectly within the Themed Entertainment assortment. It captures the exact look of the Black Nova team vehicles with its distinct flame patterns and racing details. Collectors appreciate when the brand revisits classic IP like this because it adds depth to their collections beyond standard street rods or modern sports cars.
Materials, colors and value
This model features a solid metal body that gives it a sturdy feel in hand, matching the traditional Hot Wheels build quality you expect at a 1/64 scale. The paint job is striking with bright red mixed alongside dark red sections to create depth. Silver plated accents on the base and front grille add contrast against the flames. Clear see-through windows let light shine through into the interior details. You can find this car under SKU JCB93. Because it belongs to a special themed series rather than general retail, fans of that specific universe often seek out these models for display purposes.
Questions about the Hollowback

However, themed cars can sometimes be harder to find depending on your local store stock and regional distribution schedules.
What year was Hollowback released?+
The Hot Wheels team introduced this specific version of the car in 2025. It arrived as a fresh casting or repaint within that calendar year to support the AcceleRacers collection revival.
