The story behind the '71 Datsun 510
The '71 Datsun 510 is a classic Japanese coupe known for its sporty handling in real life. In this 2025 Hot Wheels release, it appears as part of the Themed Multi-Packs under the Japanese Car Culture series. This specific model captures that retro racing vibe with bright yellow paint and bold black stripes running across the hood and side skirts. It is a plastic-cast diecast car designed at the standard 1/64 scale. While these cars are mass-produced, they offer great detail for fans of vintage import sports cars. The clear windows reveal a simple interior that matches the exterior color theme perfectly.
Materials, colors and value
This model features a lightweight plastic body finished in three distinct yellow shades depending on lighting and batch variations. These include standard Yellow, Bright Yellow, and Dark Yellow options listed for this series. The base is solid black to contrast with the vibrant paintwork. Detailed graphics include silver bumpers, quad headlights, and specific Datsun lettering decals along the rocker panels. As a multi-pack exclusive item identified by SKU BK075, it is designed to be affordable and accessible. Collectors often buy these packs to fill gaps in their Japanese car collections without spending too much on individual blister cards.
Questions about the '71 Datsun 510
How can I identify the 2025 '71 Datsun 510?+
You can find this specific version by looking for the SKU code BK075 printed on the packaging. It was released in 2025 as part of a themed multi-pack rather than sold individually in blister cards. The most obvious visual identifier is its bright yellow paint combined with black hood stripes and side decals featuring Datsun branding.
Is this car made from metal or plastic?+
This particular casting uses a fully plastic body instead of traditional diecast zinc alloy. This helps keep the production costs lower so that multi-packs can remain affordable for shoppers. Plastic bodies are lighter and durable, which makes them safe choices for younger collectors who want to play with their cars without worrying about heavy metal dents.
Is this model considered rare or common?+
This car is a mass-produced item found in themed multi-packs. It does not carry the flame logo associated with Treasure Hunts, nor does it feature Spectraflame paint like Super Treasure Hunts. Because they are sold in bundles of multiple cars at once, supply tends to be steady and plentiful.
