The story behind the Hot Wheels x MoMA Jaguar E-Type Roadster
The Hot Wheels x MoMA Jaguar E-Type Roadster stands out as a unique bridge between high-end art design and classic automotive history. Released in 2026 under the Mattel Creations Collaboratory Releases series, this model celebrates one of the most beautiful cars ever built by teaming up with the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Designer Bryan Benedict captured the sleek lines of the original Jaguar E-Type Roadster using a metal base to give it weight and presence on any shelf. This collaboration is not just about speed or plastic toys, but rather appreciating automotive design as a cultural artifact. With an SKU of JGL49, this release offers collectors a sophisticated take on vintage sports cars that feels more like a miniature sculpture than a typical play item.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model features a solid metal base material which provides excellent durability and handling for adult collectors who appreciate detail. The car comes in several stunning color variations including Opalescent Dark Blue, Red, Dark Red, as well as standard shades of Blue and Dark Blue depending on the specific variant produced. Collectors will also find different window tints ranging from Light smoke-tinted to Gray to complete various aesthetic looks for their display cases. The interior remains consistently Black across versions which helps highlight those vibrant exterior paints without distraction.
Questions about the Hot Wheels x MoMA Jaguar E-Type Roadster
How do I identify the Hot Wheels x MoMA Jaguar E-Type?+

Is this car easy to find?+
