The story behind the '98 Toyota Altezza
The '98 Toyota Altezza joins the Hot Wheels lineup in 2026 as a standout member of the Japanese Car Culture Themed Multipack series. Designed by Mark Jones, this model captures the spirit of early Asian street racing with its bold red paint and aggressive styling cues. Unlike standard Mainline releases that appear on shelves year-round, this car belongs to a specific themed multi-pack collection focused entirely on iconic vehicles from Japan's auto scene. Collectors appreciate these sets because they highlight distinct automotive heritage in one convenient package. The Altezza features a unique black hood contrast against the vibrant red bodywork, along with custom decals like the side lettering seen in images. It serves as a great entry point for enthusiasts looking to expand their Japanese sports car section without hunting down rare individual variants.
Materials, colors and value
This Hot Wheels model is built on a 1/64 scale metal chassis that provides durability and weight typical of quality diecast toys. The exterior showcases a striking red finish paired with contrasting black accents, specifically visible on the hood base area. Inside the cabin, you will find detailed black interior components to match the darker trim elements outside. Mark Jones handled the design work for this SKU BL026 release. Because it is part of a multi-pack set rather than an exclusive chase series, its value remains accessible for most fans adding to their shelf displays or track fleets today.
