The story behind the Ford GT-40
The Ford GT-40 stands as a legend in motorsport history, known for its fierce rivalry with Ferrari at Le Mans. This specific Hot Wheels model from 2026 brings that classic racing heritage to the display shelf. It is part of the Car Culture assortment and belongs to the Gulf Collector Set series released this year. Designed by Phil Riehlman, this diecast replica captures the iconic blue and orange livery made famous on the race track. The car features a metal body base and comes with detailed graphics including the number 9 roundel. Collectors appreciate how it recreates the authentic look of vintage endurance racing machines in miniature form.
Materials, colors and value
This model is built on a sturdy metal chassis at the standard 1/64 scale size found across most Hot Wheels lines. The paint application highlights several shades, with body colors listed as Blue, Pale Blue and Gulf Racing Blue to mimic the iconic sponsor stripes accurately. You will also notice Light Smoke windows set against an all-Black interior. The base of the car is painted Black to match typical series styling. Since it falls under the Car Culture category, this release targets serious hobbyists rather than casual buyers looking for bulk packs.
