The story behind the 2016 FORD GT RACE
The 2016 Ford GT Race stands out as a special find in the 2026 Exoticars lineup of Hot Wheels Mainline releases. Designed by Ryu Asada, this model captures the aggressive aerodynamic look of Ford's Le Mans winning prototype with its massive rear wing and low stance. As a Treasure Hunt rarity, it is much harder to track down than standard cars found on store shelves. Collectors hunt for these specific models because they are produced in smaller quantities compared to regular runs. The bright yellow paint job makes this car pop against the black base and interior details, giving it an unmistakable presence on any display shelf.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model features a glossy yellow body with intricate red racing stripes running along the sides and hood. It sits on a black plastic chassis that contrasts sharply with the vibrant exterior paint. The car includes smoke tinted windows for added realism while maintaining visibility of the simple interior details. Measuring at a standard 1/64 scale, it is small enough to fit into display cases yet detailed enough to appreciate its design elements up close. Being a Treasure Hunt release adds significant value and desirability among enthusiasts who prioritize finding rare variants within their collections.
