The story behind the '90 Acura NSX
The '90 Acura NSX brings a classic Japanese sports car into the Hot Wheels universe with a fresh 2026 release under the Mattel Brick Shop assortment. Designed by Ryu Asada, this diecast model captures the iconic mid-engine layout and sleek profile of the original vehicle in a compact 1/64 scale format. The yellow body pops against the black base and smoke-tinted windows, creating a look that feels both retro and modern. While Mattel Brick Shop is not one of Hot Wheels' standard retail lines like Mainline or Premium, it represents a unique collaboration aimed at collectors who appreciate niche themes and creative reinterpretations. This car stands out for its clean design choices and the way it honors the Acura's reputation as a driver-focused machine without needing flashy extras.
Materials, colors and value
Built with a plastic base, this '90 Acura NSX features a vibrant yellow body paired with black accents on the lower sections and interior. The windows are finished in smoke gray to add depth to the cabin view. At 1/64 scale, it fits easily into any display case or shelf alongside other diecast favorites. Collectors often value these Brick Shop releases for their limited availability and unique styling compared to standard line items. The yellow colorway is particularly striking because it highlights the car's curves and details without relying on metallic paints or special effects.
Questions about the '90 Acura NSX
How much is a Hot Wheels '90 Acura NSX worth?+
Pricing varies based on condition, location, and demand. Since this is part of the specialized Mattel Brick Shop series rather than common Mainline packs, it may hold higher value among niche collectors who seek out unique themes and limited releases.
How can I tell if my '90 Acura NSX is genuine?+
Check the packaging for official Hot Wheels branding and verify the SKU JNT85 printed on the box or card. Authentic models will have consistent paint quality, clear decals, and properly aligned parts that match the reference images from Mattel's official channels.
Is the '90 Acura NSX hard to find?+
Because it belongs to a specific collaboration line rather than regular retail assortments, availability can be limited. It is not as widely distributed as standard Mainline cars, so checking specialty toy stores or online marketplaces may be necessary if local shops do not stock it.
