The story behind the CUSTOM '66 TORONADO
The CUSTOM '66 TORONADO brings a classic muscle look back to shelves in the 2026 Mainline lineup under the Factory Fresh series. Designed by Rob Matthes, this diecast model captures the bold styling of late-1960s American performance cars with sharp lines and an aggressive stance. As part of the core retail offering from Hot Wheels, it is widely available but still stands out for its distinctive paint treatment and clean detailing. The metalflake red finish gives the body a deep, shimmering quality that catches light beautifully on display cases or race tracks alike.
Materials, colors and value
This model features a plastic base painted silver with white interior elements visible through clear windows. The exterior showcases a striking combination of Metalflake Dark Red and solid Dark Red panels across its sculpted bodywork. Measuring at the standard Hot Wheels scale of 1/64, it fits easily into most collector displays or storage systems. While not rare by nature due to its Mainline placement, versions with special color schemes like this one often attract attention from fans seeking unique additions for their collections.
