The story behind the RODGER DODGER
The Rodger Dodger returns for a fresh round in the 2026 Mainline collection as part of the HW Fan Driven series. This iconic design was created by Ryu Asada and features an unmistakable dragster profile that has thrilled collectors since its original introduction. The car is known for its exaggerated front clip and massive exposed engine intake sitting right above the hood. For this release, Hot Wheels kept things accessible by including it in standard retail packs rather than as a limited edition drop. It captures the spirit of 1970s drag racing culture with its wild stance and functional looking side pipes that poke out from under the rocker panels.
Materials, colors and value
This version comes equipped with a vibrant Blue paint job that includes hints of pearlescent shimmer to catch the light on display shelves. The interior features simple Gray details behind clear see-through windows while the base remains solid Black for stability during play or transport. Since it is built primarily from plastic components like all standard Mainline models, it holds up well under heavy handling without being too delicate. Most collectors value these releases based on condition and specific color preferences rather than scarcity since they are widely produced.
