The story behind the '71 Datsun 510
This '71 Datsun 510 model captures a classic era of motorsport with its bright racing livery and aggressive stance. Released in 2026 as part of the Rally Racers series within the Themed Automotive assortment, this diecast tribute honors one of Japan's most successful rally machines. Designer Jun Imai created a version that showcases the car's iconic four-headlight front end and sleek coupe lines perfectly suited for dusty roads or smooth track days. The bold yellow paint paired with blue racing stripes gives it an authentic competition look right out of the packaging.
Materials, colors and value
Built on a plastic base typical for this style, this 1/64 scale replica features vibrant Gloss Yellow bodywork that stands out instantly in any collection. Black accents run along the lower chassis and fill the interior details to contrast sharply against the main color scheme. Collectors appreciate how well it represents vintage rally aesthetics without needing heavy metal components. While standard releases like this do not hold extreme investment value today, they remain affordable entry points for fans of Japanese performance history.
