The story behind the Grand Cross
The Grand Cross arrives in the 2026 Hot Wheels lineup as a playful nod to Disney Pixar's Toy Story. This model captures the spirit of adventure and friendship that defines the beloved franchise. Designed by Lindsey Lee, it features a clean white body with green windows that stand out against the black base. The interior details add depth with gray accents inside. As part of the Themed Entertainment assortment, this car appeals to fans who love movie magic mixed with diecast collectibility. It is not just a toy but a piece of cinematic history on wheels. Collectors appreciate how accurately it reflects the vibrant aesthetic of Andy's room or Sid's world without needing extra context. The simple yet effective design makes it instantly recognizable while remaining unique within the broader collection.
Materials, colors and value
This model comes in a standard 1/64 scale, making it perfect for display alongside other mainline cars. The body is primarily white with gloss finishes that catch the light nicely. Green windows provide contrast against the gray interior components. Since the base material is plastic, you can expect durability without heavy weight typical of metal bodies. For most collectors, this item holds moderate value due to its theme appeal rather than extreme rarity. Fans often seek complete sets from specific movie franchises like Toy Story. Its condition and packaging will largely determine resale potential over time.
Questions about the Grand Cross
Is the 2026 Grand Cross a rare Treasure Hunt?+
No, this model belongs to the regular Themed Entertainment series for Toy Story in 2026. It does not feature special markings like flame logos or Spectraflame paint associated with limited releases such as Treasure Hunts. You will find it readily available through standard retail channels during its release window.
What materials are used to make the Grand Cross?+
The car body is constructed primarily from plastic rather than metal diecast. This choice keeps production costs lower while maintaining structural integrity for play and display purposes. The base remains black plastic too, ensuring consistent styling across similar models released around this time period.
How much should I pay for a loose one?+
Prices vary based on condition and demand within the collector community right now. Since it is not an ultra-rare variant yet, expect fair market rates typical for new themed entertainment cars unless sealed boxes become scarce later down the line.
