Custom Makers

Hi everyone, I want to try customizing one of my Hot Wheels cars. I took it apart, but now I need to remove the factory paint from the metal body before I repaint it. What product do you use for this? I heard about oven cleaner and brake fluid, but I'm not sure which one is safe and works best. Any tips on how long to soak it, or things I should be careful about, would help a lot. Thanks!
