The story behind the BATMOBILE
The Batmobile from the Batman series stands out as one of the most sought after models in the Hot Wheels lineup because of its special Super Treasure Hunt status. Released in 2017 and designed by Alec Tam, this car was part of a limited run that makes it much harder to find than standard Mainline releases. Unlike regular plastic body cars, this version features a shimmering Spectraflame finish on the exterior, giving it a unique metallic shine under any light source. The iconic 1960s vehicle design is captured perfectly here with its massive bat-wing spoiler and aggressive front end styling.
Materials, colors and value
This specific model measures in at 1/64 scale and features a plastic base material typical of most Mainline cars, though the finish elevates it significantly. The body showcases a Spectraflame Dark Blue color that sparkles with depth and texture compared to standard solid paint jobs. Collectors will notice light blue tinted windows along with black interior details for contrast. A small flame logo on the base is the key identifier you should look for when checking authenticity or comparing it against common variants.
Questions about the BATMOBILE
How do I know if my Batmobile is a Super Treasure Hunt?+
Look closely at the car base near the wheels. If there is an orange flame logo painted directly onto the plastic, you have found a special edition variant called a Super Treasure Hunt. This specific mark indicates it came from a limited production run and usually features premium finishes like Spectraflame paint.
Is the 2017 Batman Batmobile considered rare?+
Yes, this model is quite difficult to locate since Super Treasure Hunts are produced in very small quantities compared to regular releases. These special variants were often hidden within standard cases or sold exclusively at certain retail partners during that year.
What materials was the 2017 Batmobile made of?+
Despite having a higher tier finish, the body remains constructed from durable plastic rather than metal. This is standard practice for most Hot Wheels mainline releases to keep costs manageable while still providing excellent playability and detail on smaller scales.
