The story behind the '69 Chevelle SS 396
The '69 Chevelle SS 396 from 2017 stands out as a crown jewel in any collection because of its exclusive Super Treasure Hunt status. Released within the Muscle Mania series, this specific casting was designed by Phil Riehlman to capture the raw power and sleek lines of classic American muscle cars. While standard Mainline releases are common finds at retail stores, this special edition is incredibly rare. It represents the pinnacle of Hot Wheels exclusivity for that year. The car features a striking Spectraflame Yellow paint finish that shimmers under light, giving it a unique look you cannot find on regular packs. This release appeals to serious enthusiasts who hunt for these hard-to-spot variations.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model is built at the standard 1/64 scale and features a high-quality metal body that adds weight and durability. The exterior showcases a vibrant Spectraflame Yellow finish, which differs significantly from matte or glossy paint jobs found on other cars. You will notice distinct red racing stripes with blue accents running along the side panels to match its aggressive styling cues inside out. The interior is molded in black plastic and visible through tinted gray windows that give it an authentic showroom appearance. Collectors value this item highly due to its limited production run as a Super Treasure Hunt release under SKU DVC95.
Questions about the '69 Chevelle SS 396
How do I know if my '69 Chevelle SS is a real STH?+
You can identify an authentic Super Treasure Hunt version by looking for the small flame logo on its packaging. The car itself should have Spectraflame paint, which creates a unique shimmering effect compared to standard glossy finishes. Additionally, check for special wheel types often reserved for these exclusive releases.
What makes this 2017 Chevelle more valuable than others?+
The main factor increasing its value is the Super Treasure Hunt designation attached to SKU DVC95. These cars are produced in much smaller quantities compared to regular Mainline models released during that same year.
Is this car easy to find today?+
No, finding an unopened or mint condition example is very difficult since it was a limited release. Most collectors search secondary markets or trade with others because retail availability disappeared quickly after the initial 2017 distribution period ended.
