The story behind the TOYOTA OFF-ROAD TRUCK
The Toyota Off-Road Truck from 2017 stands out as a highly sought-after Super Treasure Hunt model within the HW Speed Graphics series. Designed by Phil Riehlman with SKU DVC87, this specific casting captures the rugged spirit of off-road racing culture. What makes it truly special is its status as a Super Treasure Hunt release, which means collectors often look for the unique Spectraflame paint finish that distinguishes it from standard versions. It represents the core Mainline assortment but carries much higher prestige due to its limited availability and distinct color treatment compared to regular retail finds.
Materials, colors and value
This model features an all-plastic body construction in a classic Hot Wheels scale of 1/64. The design highlights aggressive decals featuring Falken Tires branding alongside detailed graphics on the blue exterior panels. While standard versions appeared with solid blue bodies, the Super Treasure Hunt variant sports a shimmering Spectraflame Blue finish that catches light beautifully. Inside the cabin sits a grey interior, complemented by a sturdy black base and heavy-duty molded wheels suited for rough terrain play.
Questions about the TOYOTA OFF-ROAD TRUCK
How can I tell if my Toyota Off-Road Truck is rare?+
You should check the paint finish on the body. If it has a sparkling or metallic effect known as Spectraflame Blue, you likely have a Super Treasure Hunt version. These special releases are much harder to find than standard blue models and often command higher prices among serious diecast collectors today.
What is the SKU number for this 2017 truck?+
The official Stock Keeping Unit identifier assigned by Mattel for this specific car release is DVC87. This code helps track production details and links it directly to Phil Riehlman as the designer responsible for creating its rugged, high-clearance appearance in that particular year.
Is Super Treasure Hunt different from normal Mainline cars?+
Yes, Super Treasure Hunts are extremely rare variants hidden randomly inside standard retail cases. They feature unique paint like Spectraflame and special wheel types to make them instantly recognizable. Finding one usually brings excitement because they appear far less frequently than regular Mainline models.
