The story behind the Ford Capri Gr.5
The Ford Capri Gr.5 from the 2023 Car Culture Race Day assortment brings a piece of European rally racing history into your collection. Designed by Phil Riehlman, this diecast model captures the essence of Group 5 endurance racing with its distinctive white body and bold blue graphics. As part of Hot Wheels' Car Culture series, it is aimed at adult collectors who appreciate detailed recreations of iconic race cars rather than just street versions. The car features a prominent rear wing and specific sponsor decals that mirror the real competition vehicles of that era. With SKU HKC58, this model serves as a solid addition for anyone building out their Car Culture shelf or looking to complete the 2023 Race Day lineup.
Materials, colors and value
Crafted with a metal body, this 1/64 scale model offers a sturdy feel typical of premium Hot Wheels releases. The color scheme is dominated by white on the main panels, contrasted sharply with black elements in the interior and base areas. Windows feature various shades including smoke and gray tints to add visual depth to the cockpit view. While not explicitly marked as a limited edition chase or treasure hunt variant, cars from this series are generally well-regarded for their paint quality and decal work among hobbyists.
