The story behind the '87 Dodge D100
The '87 Dodge D100 from Hot Wheels brings a classic American pickup into the rugged world of off-road racing. Released in 2023 as part of the Baja Blazers series, this Mainline model captures the spirit of desert blazers with its wide stance and oversized tires. The car features a distinctive Metalflake Dark Pink body paired with bold white graphics that include Hot Wheels branding and sponsor decals like Mopar and BF Goodrich. Designer Brendon Vetuskey shaped this truck to look ready for dusty tracks, highlighting the vintage 1987 Dodge D100 undercarriage style. As a Mainline release, it is widely available in retail stores, making it an accessible entry point into Hot Wheels off-road themes. Collectors appreciate how this model blends nostalgia with modern toy design details.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast car sits at the standard 1/64 scale used by most of the line. The body is finished in a striking Metalflake Dark Pink paint, which gives it a shimmering depth under light. Smoke tinted windows and black interiors add contrast to the vibrant exterior. The base components are molded in beige and tan tones, supporting the large off-road tires that define its blazer look. Because this is a common Mainline assortment model rather than a limited chase or treasure hunt variant, it typically holds steady value among casual collectors. It is an easy find for fans of pink Hot Wheels trucks.
