The story behind the BATMOBILE
This 2023 Mainline release brings the dark aesthetic of Gotham City right into your diecast collection. Part of the special Batman Collection series for that year, this Batmobile captures the sleek and menacing look of the iconic vehicle. Designed by Rob Matthes under SKU HKG99, it features a distinct low profile with sweeping lines and bat wings at the rear. As part of the standard Mainline assortment, these cars are meant to be fun retail models available in stores worldwide. The styling focuses on capturing the moody atmosphere associated with Batman media. Collectors who enjoy themed runs often look for pieces like this to complete their superhero sets. It represents a solid addition for anyone wanting authentic looking Batmobiles in 1/64 scale.
Materials, colors and value
This model features a durable metal base that provides weight and stability on race tracks. The body is painted in a deep dark gray shade which matches the serious tone of the character design. You will notice bright orange accents throughout the car, specifically inside the tinted windows and as racing stripes along the sides. These high contrast details pop against the dark finish. The base color remains black to keep the look understated. Since this is part of a larger themed collection released in 2023, finding complete sets can be an exciting challenge for dedicated fans who want every variation.

Some versions might have slightly different shades of gray depending on lighting conditions during manufacturing. However, the defining characteristic remains the combination of that dark metal finish paired with bright orange stripes.
Who designed this specific Batmobile casting?+
This particular version of the Hot Wheels diecast car was designed by Rob Matthes. He created several models for the brand over his career, focusing on capturing iconic vehicles accurately while adapting them to work well as friction powered toys and collectible miniatures.
