The story behind the Skate Grom
The Skate Grom brings a playful twist to the standard Hot Wheels lineup by featuring an action figure rather than just a vehicle. Released in 2023 as part of the Mainline assortment, this model captures the energy of street skating culture. It belongs to the HW Sports (2023) series, which focuses on athletic and active themes for kids. Designed by Fraser Campbell, the car includes a white plastic skater mid-trick atop a vibrant board with lime green accents. The combination of motion and character makes it a standout piece in any collection focused on lifestyle and sports rather than traditional automotive history.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model features a ZAMAC metal base that provides weight and durability typical of Hot Wheels toys. The deck is painted in bright lime green with black tiger stripe graphics, while the figure and parts remain white plastic. It sits on pink wheels to complete its sporty look. As a Mainline release from 2023, it is widely available at retail stores rather than being limited or rare. Collectors usually find these models affordable because they are mass-produced for the general market.
