The story behind the DATSUN BLUEBIRD WAGON (510)
The DATSUN BLUEBIRD WAGON (510) from the HW Wagons series released in 2023 stands out as a true grail model for collectors. Designed by Jun Imai, this Super Treasure Hunt release is incredibly sought after due to its exclusive nature and stunning finish. Unlike standard Mainline cars found on retail shelves, this version features special Spectraflame paint that gives it a deep, shimmering look often described as watermelon red. The unique white racing graphics add plenty of contrast against the vibrant body color. Finding an original package is very difficult because these models are produced in much smaller quantities than regular releases. This makes them highly desirable for anyone building a focused collection or looking to complete their HW Wagons set with rare variants.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model captures the classic shape of the beloved Datsun wagon at a detailed 1/64 scale. The base is constructed from unpainted ZAMAC metal, which adds weight and durability compared to lighter plastic bases found on everyday models. It features Spectraflame paint with white decals representing racing numbers and branding details across the side panels. Collectors often look for this specific SKU HKL15 when hunting down missing pieces from their 2023 collection runs. Due to its status as a Super Treasure Hunt, values tend to be significantly higher than standard Mainline equivalents once they leave store shelves.
Questions about the DATSUN BLUEBIRD WAGON (510)
How do you identify a real Super Treasure Hunt DATSUN BLUEBIRD WAGON+
You can spot the authentic version by looking for the distinctive Spectraflame paint finish that shimmers under light. Standard versions usually have flat red or chrome paint instead of this special metallic coating. The base will also be unpainted ZAMAC rather than colored plastic, and it often includes unique white racing graphics not seen on common releases.
Is the 2023 DATSUN BLUEBIRD WAGON rare for collectors+
Yes, this model is extremely rare because it was released as a Super Treasure Hunt. These special editions are produced in very limited quantities compared to standard Mainline cars. They were originally hidden among regular packs in stores during 2023, making them difficult to find today without buying sealed cases or trading with other enthusiasts.
What is the typical market value for this car now+
Values vary widely depending on condition and whether the packaging remains intact. Since it is a Super Treasure Hunt model from 2023, prices generally command a premium over regular wagons. Loose cars sell cheaper than those still in their original blister packs. Collectors willing to pay top dollar usually demand perfect box conditions with no creases or tears.
