The story behind the '69 SHELBY GT-500
The '69 Shelby GT-500 stands as a true highlight from the 2023 Mainline releases. As part of the Muscle Mania series, this model captures the aggressive spirit of classic American powerhouses. What sets it apart is its status as a Super Treasure Hunt, making it one of the rarest finds in any case pack or retail hunt. Designed by Brendon Vetuskey and identified by SKU HKL22, this 1/64 scale diecast features stunning Spectraflame purple paint that shimmers under light. The white racing stripes add a sharp contrast to the deep hue. Because Super Treasure Hunts are produced in very limited quantities compared to standard Mainline cars, finding one can feel like striking gold for any dedicated fan of vintage muscle.
Materials, colors and value
This specific model features a plastic base with clear window details and black interior components. The exterior shines thanks to its Spectraflame purple finish, which gives the body a unique depth that changes depending on the angle you view it from. It sits at the standard 1/64 scale found across most Hot Wheels collections. Due to its limited production run as a Super Treasure Hunt, this car often commands higher prices in secondary markets compared to regular releases. Collectors prize these items heavily because of their special paint application and exclusivity factor.
