The story behind the Custom Datsun 240Z
The Custom Datsun 240Z released in 2023 brings a bold twist to classic Japanese sports car history. This model was part of the Japanese Car Culture Themed Multipack, which groups together iconic designs for fans who love detailed builds and racing styles. The black paint job matches well with its aggressive widebody stance and white-wall tires that stand out on any display shelf. Designer Jun Imai gave this version a custom flair by adding sponsor decals like NITTO and BILSTEIN along the sides, giving it an authentic drift car look. Even though it comes in plastic form instead of metal, the attention to detail makes it feel special. Its presence in themed packs means collectors often see multiple versions together, creating variety within one set.
Materials, colors and value
This Custom Datsun 240Z is built with a black painted body and clear window pieces over a black base made from plastic material. The interior also matches the exterior color theme with matching black seats visible through transparent windows. At 1/64 scale, it fits neatly into most Hot Wheels collections without taking up much space while still offering great visual appeal. While not rare or limited edition, this model adds value due to its unique styling and connection to real car culture trends.
