The story behind the Raijin Express
The Raijin Express from the 2024 Anniversary lineup stands out as a bold celebration of Hot Wheels history. This model belongs to the Green and Gold Mix assortment, paying homage to the brand’s iconic color scheme with modern flair. Designed by Ryu Asada, this truck-style vehicle features dramatic chrome gold detailing that catches light beautifully on every surface. With its striking appearance and limited availability in chase form, it quickly became a must-have for collectors who appreciate unique releases tied to major milestones like the 56th anniversary of Hot Wheels.
Materials, colors and value
This 1/64 scale diecast model has a metal base that gives it solid weight and durability. The body is finished in chrome gold with black-tinted windows, giving off a sleek and premium look. Some versions feature an unpainted green chassis detail under the trailer section, adding contrast to the overall design. Collectors value these models for their special release status and high-quality finishes. While not all copies are equally rare due to chase variation rates, those with full chrome treatment tend to be more sought after.
Questions about the Raijin Express
How do I know if my Raijin Express is a true chase version?+
Chase versions often have unique paint treatments like Spectraflame or different wheel styles. For the 2024 Anniversary release, look for full chrome gold finish across both cab and trailer, as well as possible variations in base color.
Is this model considered rare among Hot Wheels collectors?+
Yes, being part of a limited chase run makes it harder to find. Chase cars are produced in smaller quantities compared to standard models and usually appear randomly in retail packs without prior notice.
What should I check when buying this car online?+
Look for clear photos showing the chrome gold finish on all parts, especially around headlights and vents. Verify window tinting matches black or dark gray tones listed in official specs to confirm authenticity.
