The story behind the Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 (964)
The Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 (964) joins Hot Wheels in a fun twist that plays with proportions rather than power. Released as part of the Tooned series in 2024, this model exaggerates the classic curves of the legendary sports car by giving it a massive cabin and tiny wheels. The Tooned line is famous for its humorous approach to iconic vehicles, making them look like they have been squeezed from the sides while keeping their signature details intact. Designer Fraser Campbell captured the recognizable silhouette of the 964 generation and added that distinct cartoonish flair collectors love. It belongs to the Mainline assortment, meaning it was produced in standard retail quantities for general availability.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast replica features a mix of materials typical for this series, combining metal bodies with plastic components like windows. The car showcases a striking Metalflake dark purple paint job that catches the light beautifully against its gray base plates. Blue tinted windows add contrast to the sleek exterior and reveal black interior details inside the cabin. Measuring at 1/64 scale, it fits perfectly in standard display cases alongside other collectibles. While Mainline items are generally affordable entry points for new collectors, this specific color combination stands out due to its unique sparkle.
