The story behind the Lancer Evolution IX
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX holds a legendary spot in rally racing history as one of the most dominant machines ever built. Hot Wheels brought this icon back for collectors with a striking new look in 2024 as part of the Mystery Models Series 1 line. Unlike standard releases, these cars are sold individually without packaging to highlight their unique details. Designer Fraser Campbell updated this model with aggressive racing graphics that include red and black geometric patterns along the sides. The white paint job gives it a clean motorsport appearance while keeping the classic wide-body shape recognizable.
Materials, colors and value
This specific casting is produced on a plastic base scale of 1/64 to match standard collection sizes. It features a solid white body paired with detailed black interior parts and matching wheel hubs depending on your luck during purchase. You might find versions featuring smoke tinted windows or gray window frames alongside the main color scheme. Collectors appreciate how this design captures the aggressive stance required for professional rally competition even at such a small size.
