The story behind the Project Speeder

The Project Speeder arrived in 2024 as part of the Mystery Models assortment designed by Ryu Asada. This series invites collectors to buy sealed packs without knowing exactly which car is inside, adding a fun element of surprise to every purchase. The Project Speeder itself features an aggressive custom look with a large chrome supercharger sitting on top of the hood and racing decals along the side. It captures that classic hot rod spirit in a compact package.

Materials, colors and value

This model comes at 1/64 scale with a plastic body painted in bronze metallic colors, though brown versions also exist within the lineup. The interior features bright chrome details while blue tinted windows help frame the cabin. A black base supports the chassis and wheels which add to its street racer appeal. Collectors appreciate the unique mystery format because it makes finding specific models feel like a treasure hunt.

Questions about the Project Speeder

How do I know if my Project Speeder is rare?+

Mystery Models vary in frequency based on how many packs contain each design. Since you cannot pick the car directly, some designs appear much more often than others. Check online collector forums to see recent pack openings and compare frequencies for this specific 2024 release.

What colors are available for the Project Speeder?+

The most common color is bronze metallic with chrome accents inside. You may also find versions in solid brown or gloss finishes depending on which mystery pack you open, as Hot Wheels sometimes runs multiple variants within the same series year.

Is Project Speeder a metal diecast car?+

No, this specific model uses a plastic body rather than traditional metal construction. Many newer specialty releases like Mystery Models utilize durable plastic materials to keep costs down while still offering detailed designs and vibrant paint schemes.
