The story behind the SMALL BLOC
The Small Bloc from the HW Metro series brings a unique urban twist to the standard dragster silhouette. Released in 2025 as part of the mainline assortment, this model transforms a classic street racer into a city taxi cab. The design features bold yellow and white checkerboard graphics along with prominent lettering that mimics real-world livery styles found on busy streets. Collectors enjoy seeing how Hot Wheels designers reinterpret well-known vehicle shapes to fit specific themes like transportation or public service vehicles. This casting offers a distinct look compared to traditional flame-painted racers while maintaining the aggressive stance of its dragster roots.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model is built with a sturdy metal base, providing weight and durability typical for premium mainline releases. The exterior sports a black paint finish accented by detailed yellow graphics that stand out clearly against the dark background. Underneath, you will find plated details on the chassis rather than standard chrome or colored finishes. Inside, there are grey interior components visible through the windows. Being part of the regular 2025 mainline production run means it is available in stores and online shops worldwide. Its condition usually holds up well over time thanks to the solid construction materials used by Mattel.
Questions about the SMALL BLOC
Is this Small Bloc car considered rare?+
No, this model was released as a standard mainline vehicle in 2025. It does not have special markings like the flame logo associated with Treasure Hunts or limited edition releases. You can generally find it at local retailers without difficulty since it is part of mass production runs designed for everyday play.
What materials are used to make this car?+
The body and chassis utilize a metal base which gives the toy significant weight. This ensures it feels substantial when handled or raced on tracks. The wheels often feature rubber tires depending on specific variants, but the core structure relies heavily on diecast metal manufacturing techniques common across most Hot Wheels collections.
Does this casting come in other colors?+
While collectors sometimes spot different paint schemes for popular castings during various release years, the specific version listed here features a black body with yellow taxi graphics. Mainline cars frequently rotate colorways throughout the year so checking new packs might reveal alternative versions if you are looking to trade.
