The story behind the 1972 Chevrolet Nova Pro Street
The 1972 Chevrolet Nova Pro Street from the 2025 RLC Exclusives lineup captures a classic American muscle icon with serious attention to detail. Designed by Brendon Vetuskey, this model features a stunning Spectraflame Purple finish that catches light beautifully, paired with white racing stripes and period-correct decals like “Yenko/SC” along the side. Built on 1972 Nova SS body lines but styled for drag racing culture, it sits low with polished wheels wrapped in Goodyear tires. The interior shows metallic silver tones through smoke-tinted windows, while the base is matte black. all hallmarks of high-end RLC releases. Since RLC Exclusives are not sold at retail stores and only available via select events or direct purchases from Hot Wheels’ headquarters, they’re inherently limited. Collectors who secure one know it’s a rare gem in any diecast collection.
Materials, colors and value
This model uses metal construction for durability and realistic weight distribution, finished in Spectraflame Purple. a signature paint technique reserved for premium RLC models. Interior details include metallic silver elements visible through smoke-tinted windows, giving depth without overwhelming the exterior. The base is matte black, which contrasts nicely with the vibrant body color. At 1/64 scale, it fits perfectly alongside other Hot Wheels collections while standing out due to its exclusive nature and designer pedigree (Brendon Vetuskey). While no official production numbers exist for RLC Exclusives, their limited availability makes them highly sought after among serious collectors who value uniqueness over mass-market appeal.
Questions about the 1972 Chevrolet Nova Pro Street
How do I know if my 1972 Chevy Nova Pro Street is an authentic RLC Exclusive?+
Check for the Spectraflame Purple finish and matte black base. both are hallmarks of true RLC Exclusives. Also look for designer credit to Brendon Vetuskey and SKU JCP21 printed on packaging or cardback if included. These cars don’t appear in regular store sets, so finding one outside official channels raises red flags about authenticity.
Is this car worth more than a standard Hot Wheels release?+
Yes, significantly. As part of the RLC Exclusives series released directly through Hot Wheels headquarters events or mail orders, these models have inherently low supply and high collector demand. Their Spectraflame paint, detailed interiors, and designer signatures make them premium items far beyond typical mainline values.
Can I buy this 1972 Nova Pro Street at a regular store?+
No, RLC Exclusives are never sold through retail outlets like Walmart or Target. They’re distributed exclusively during special Hot Wheels fan events, online auctions hosted by the brand, or via direct purchase from the Rod Custom Collection headquarters. making them inherently rare and difficult to find.
