The story behind the '41 Willys
The Rod Squad series brings classic hot rod culture straight into your collection with fresh style every year. This specific release of the '41 Willys for 2026 fits right in as a standout Mainline model designed by Phil Riehlman. It captures that vintage street racing look perfectly, especially with its bold purple paint scheme. The design features custom graphics on the door labeled El Segundo Scorcher and the number 392. This adds a distinct personality to this otherwise standard body casting. While it is part of the mass-produced retail lineup found in stores worldwide, Rod Squad themes often catch the eye of serious diecast fans who enjoy detailed paint apps. The combination of classic lines and modern rod styling makes this particular SKU JJK01 a fun addition for anyone tracking down colorful vintage vehicles.
Materials, colors and value
This model features a plastic body base painted in shades like Purple, Lavender, or Matte Lavender depending on the specific variation you find inside the box. The interior is finished with silver details to give it extra contrast against the darker exterior tones. It comes scaled at 1/64 size which fits perfectly into standard display cases alongside other vintage models. Collectors usually value these Mainline releases based on their condition and whether they keep them in the original packaging. Since it has a unique colorway with custom door art, this Willys stands out more than plain single-tone versions.
Questions about the '41 Willys
Is the Rod Squad '41 Willys rare?+
This model belongs to the Mainline assortment so it is produced in large numbers for general retail stores. It does not feature special rarity markings like a Treasure Hunt flame logo or Spectraflame paint finish. You can typically find this car available at most major toy retailers during its active release year of 2026.
What material is the body made from?+
The chassis and structural base for this particular casting are made entirely of plastic. Many older Hot Wheels vehicles used metal bodies but recent Mainline releases often switch to lighter materials while keeping detailed paint applications.
How do I identify the specific color variation?+
You can spot differences by looking at the finish on the hood and doors. Some versions feature a glossy purple coat while others might appear as matte lavender or include metalflake accents near the base area.
