The story behind the Toyota AE-86 Corolla
The Toyota AE-86 Corolla holds a legendary status in the world of drift culture thanks largely to its starring role in pop media like Initial D. Hot Wheels brought this iconic front-wheel-drive coupe into the lineup during 2023 as part of the HW Drift series. This specific model was designed by Jun Imai and distributed within exclusive 5-Packs, making it a special find for those hunting complete sets. The casting captures the classic boxy shape that made the real vehicle famous on mountain passes. While not a rare limited edition release like a Treasure Hunt, its inclusion in this themed multi-pack highlights Hot Wheels dedication to honoring street racing history.
Materials, colors and value
This 1/64 scale model is built using durable plastic rather than diecast metal for both the body and base. The most common version found features a striking teal exterior color that stands out on any display shelf or play set track. It pairs nicely with vibrant red interior details visible through tinted windows. Collectors often value this piece not just as a standalone toy, but because it completes specific sets related to drifting culture. As an item from the 5-Pack assortment, finding loose copies might be harder than standard blister pack releases.

Is there a red interior on this teal model?+
Yes, most versions of the HW Drift Toyota AE-86 feature bright red seats inside. You can clearly see these details through the tinted windows provided in this specific release configuration.
