The story behind the Ford Bronco R
The Ford Bronco R brings serious off-road attitude to your Hot Wheels collection with its bold black finish and rugged stance. Released in 2023 as part of the HW Hot Trucks assortment, this Mainline model captures the spirit of modern performance SUVs designed for rough terrain. It is not a limited edition or treasure hunt piece but rather an accessible entry into diecast truck collecting that delivers solid detail without premium pricing. The car features aggressive wheel arches and chunky tires that hint at its capability to handle simulated mud and rocks on any toy track. Fans of the real Bronco lineup will appreciate how this small-scale replica keeps the iconic boxy shape intact while adding racing-inspired graphics visible in red accents along the side panels.
Materials, colors and value
Crafted primarily from plastic, this 1/64 scale model weighs very little and is easy to handle for kids or adults alike. The entire body comes in a deep black color with matching interior details and base components. While it lacks metal construction found in premium lines, the paint job remains glossy enough to show clear reflections under good lighting. Most collectors find these Mainline cars affordable, often trading at modest prices since they are widely available through standard retail channels rather than exclusive drops.
Questions about the Ford Bronco R
Is the Hot Wheels Ford Bronco R a rare collectible?+
No, this is not a limited edition. It belongs to the Mainline series released in 2023 under HW Hot Trucks. Because it was produced in large quantities for regular retail stores, most collectors can still find new copies easily without paying premium prices or searching specialty markets.
How do I identify a genuine Ford Bronco R from the 2023 Mainline?+
Look at the base of the car for the SKU code HKJ04 printed near the flame logo. The body should be entirely black with red racing decals on the side doors and rear quarter panel. The wheels are gray plastic with large tread patterns designed to mimic off-road tires.
What materials is this Hot Wheels car made from?+
The entire model uses plastic for its base, body shell, interior seats, and wheel components. It does not include any metal parts like you would see in Premium or Super Treasure Hunt releases. This construction keeps the cost low while maintaining durability suitable for casual play and display.
