The story behind the The Joker
This version of The Joker from Hot Wheels captures the chaotic energy of DC Comics' most famous villain in a highly stylized custom ride. Released as part of the Character Cars assortment within the DC 2024 series, this unique model was designed by Eric Han to look like a rolling art project rather than a standard street car. It features an eccentric mix of purple and lavender tones with bright red accents on the front bumper area. A small golden bust sits prominently near the hood, adding character specific flair that fans will immediately recognize. The design prioritizes fun over realism, making it stand out as a playful tribute to comic book culture.
Materials, colors and value
Built at the standard 1/64 scale for easy display and play, this diecast vehicle is constructed primarily with plastic components rather than metal bodies found in premium lines. It showcases vibrant color variations across different units including purple or lavender body paint paired with light blue bases. The interior often features gold chrome details while yellow tinted windows add contrast against the lighter exterior shades. Collectors appreciate these character themed models for their visual appeal and connection to pop culture stories rather than mechanical accuracy.
Questions about the The Joker
Is the Hot Wheels Joker car made of metal?+
No, this specific Character Car model is primarily built with plastic materials instead of diecast metal. While many standard Mainline releases use zinc alloy bodies for durability and weight, character themed vehicles often rely on molded plastics to achieve complex shapes like custom bumpers or unique rooflines without increasing manufacturing costs.
How do I know which color version is worth more?+
Value usually depends on rarity within the store distribution rather than specific colors. Since multiple variations exist with different base and body combinations, check online marketplaces to see demand for purple versus lavender finishes. Generally all versions hold similar value unless one particular shade proves significantly harder to find in sealed packs.
Is this part of a special limited edition series?+
It belongs to the Character Cars assortment which focuses on pop culture themes rather than extreme rarity. This means it is generally available through regular retail channels during its release window but may become harder to locate once production stops. It does not carry Treasure Hunt flame logos or Spectraflame paint treatments.
